Gaasterland staat bekend om zijn rabatten met eikenhakhout. Voor de eeuwwisseling werd hier grootschalig schors gewonnen voor de leerlooierijen. Het hedendaagse bos is door het uitsterven van het traditioneel leerlooien veranderd in een opgaand bos. Maar ook dít bos kan een mooie toepassing vinden in het looien van leder. Door het gebruik van lokale plantaardige looistoffen is in het leder dat Amber looit een reflectie van het landschap waaruit het is voorgekomen terug te zien.
Elke zondagmiddag (13:00 -16:00) kunt u in de Natuur Schuur Gaasterland aan de hand van het werk van Amber Veel ervaren hoe landschap en leder, nog steeds, met elkaar verbonden zijn!

Since the beginning of Fashionclash in 2009, Clash Project each year invites 10 young artists and designers to translate their work into a wearable piece for the catwalk. Participants from different art and design disciplines are challenged to transfer their practice, both materially and conceptually, to a different medium. It is an invitation to come out of the comfort zone, to play and experiment.

Creative Industries Fund NL reveals the practices of the newest generation of Dutch designers, offering visitors to Dutch Design Week 2015 a behind-the-scenes peek into the practices of the newest generation of Dutch creatives. The In No Particular Order exhibition presents the latest work of 36 up-and-coming designers who are active in the fields of product design, graphic design, light design, social design, architecture, fashion, art, audiovisual and e-culture. Creative Industries Fund NL awarded them a year-long grant and the exhibition shows a selection of the results, in the form of research, design, prototypes, installations and video works.
